SKD Studios located in Newport Beach, CA loves to talk about color. House beautiful has a great article on color trends for 2015 that really caught my eye. Let me know what you think –
Olive – this is a color they are predicting. Looking at this photo, I am very intrigued by the olive cabinetry but I think it is a bit much on the walls, the ceiling and the doors!
This trend – shades of the 60’s is something I can wrap my head around. I am in love with the lacquer gray walls and I think the mix of olive green and orange is super fresh and makes this room pop. I think the key is the tone in the colors. All the tones are the same from the turquoise velvet chair to the olive leather and even the orange has a matching hue. Take note, lots of different colors all work beautifully together because the undertones are all the same.
Finally I am happy to report that gray isn’t going anywhere. It will still be the neutral of choice in 2015. I think gray works because it is a neutral and has so much variation. You can use dark gray instead of black or light gray instead of taupe. At SKD Studios in Newport Beach, we love gray.
