Today was a pretty exciting day around SKD Studios located in Newport Beach, Ca. As a Kitchen Designer it is a pretty cool thing to have your work published in a national publication. On news stands today REFRESH magazine, a Better Homes and Gardens special interest publication SKD Studios had a pretty big spread for a job we completed in Huntington, Maryland. This job was so much fun to work on, the client was amazing and had such great style and a clear vision of what she wanted in her new space. As an interior designer it is always fun when we not only click with a client but we can help bring their vision to a reality. This home was such a cool space and the homeowner let us “do our thing”. I think together, we created a bright, warm and incredible space that hopefully the family will enjoy for years to come.
One of the great things that we took from this project was getting the behind the scenes of a magazine shoot. Better Homes and Gardens does it right and their publication is such a great resource for all things home related. The actual shoot took hours and it was so fun to watch the photographer take so much time focusing on one small area of the space. My client said it right when she said it was both dull and exciting at the same time!
